Colorful Expressions and Playful Emojis: Navigating the Path to Brand Identity
Unveiling the Artistry Behind CuteNomz’s Vibrant Brand Persona
In the dynamic world of entrepreneurship, a business’s brand identity is its fingerprint in the hearts and minds of its audience. As an entrepreneur passionate about digital art, wallpapers, planners, and stickers, I embarked on a transformative voyage to sculpt a brand identity that resonates.
When I first started my business it was called PaperPigPress. It was cute, but the only reason I chose the name was because I like pigs.
My brand name is CuteNomz. Cute because I like kawaii or cutesy things and Nomz because nom nom like the sound you make when you eat food, so CuteNomz is essentially cute food which is what I make a lot of kawaii themed food or food with faces.
So you chose your brand name. What’s next? Brand Identity.
I would say probably the most important thing about your brand. It’ll determine your brand colors, social media presence, and even how you talk in your videos. It’ll determine how you make people feel and it’ll be the first thing they judge.
For me, I struggled. Oh my god did I struggle with this.
When I first started CuteNomz my brand colors were neon pink, sunflower yellow, congress blue, burnt orange and cherry red. It was a disaster to say the least. I didn’t have a base color or an accent color or even a neutral color. (All colors which you should have by the way.)
The colors also did not have any cohesiveness at all. Now I am not an expert on color palettes and it’s something I’m learning so I used the website Coolors. I found a neutral color that I like which ended up being Rose White. My base color is Bubblegum Pink. And finally my accent colors are pastel yellow and pastel orange. Now, you have your colors that still doesn’t mean you have your brand identity and you may not even end up changing your brand colors after I tell you this tip.
My #1 tip for creating a brand identity is to describe your brand in five emojis. For the longest time I couldnt.I didn’t know what my brand of emojis were and I honestly didn’t think that emojis were going to help me discover my brand identity. They were emojis, the things you use to add more emotion on your phone text messages and social media posts! But they did.
Once I found the emojis that I believed matched my CuteNomz brand it was like the angels started singing from the heavens, it was like the lightbulb lit up above my head, it was like someone slapped across the head saying it was there all along! My CuteNomz emojis were 🌸🍭🦄💕🎀 i know mind blowing. But trust me everything should fall into place after that, at least it did for me.
You have your brand name, brand emojis and brand colors all you need now is your logo. Logos have been hard for me. I’ve changed my CuteNomz logo about three times now and I will probably change it one more time because it doesn’t match the aesthetic I’m going for. Referring back to brand emojis is part of the reason I’m changing my logo. Because of my brand emojis I now have an aesthetic that I stick to and am able to mold and shape. Aesthetics are key to having a successful brand.
Crafting a brand identity is a dance between creativity and strategy. As my journey unfolded, I realized that each color, each emoji, and every iteration of my logo held the power to convey a unique message. Defining the essence of a brand goes beyond mere aesthetics — it’s about creating an emotional connection with the audience.
