Organize Your Life with Digital Planners: A Comprehensive Guide
Organization. Organization. Organization! It feels like in this day in age organization can be shoved down your throat. It can feel like your life is going nowhere because it is so messy and unorganized.
If you’ve tried time and time again to become organized then you understand the feeling of going to your favorite store and picking out the cutest organizer you can find, only for it to collect dust months later. I was like that. I had piles of old planners that were outdated or were written in for a month and never written in again.
I had given up, I said screw planners and screw being organized and I was just going to be my messy unorganized self!
Obviously, that didn’t work. When I decided to create CuteNomz Shop I knew I would have to get organized but if I didn’t want to use paper planners what was I going to do?
Two words. Digital. Planner.
Understanding Digital Planners
Digital planners are a pdf version of traditional paper planners that we know and love. It can be used on your phone, tablet, or even computer or laptop. And even better is that it can be switched between devices so you can meal plan on your laptop and have your grocery list with you on your phone.
If you have knowledge of digital planners then you more than likely think of the PDF versions, but there are other options! There are app based planners, web based planners and of course pdf planners.
Another advantage of digital planners is that it’s environmentally friendly! You’re not wasting paper or buying different colored pens or highlighters or washi tape! There is no paper involved.
Getting Started with Digital Planners
When I started digital planning I already had an iPad so digital planning on my iPad was a no brainer for me. Find what technology is easiest for you to plan on, that could be your phone or your tablet or your desktop whatever works for you!
The second thing I did was research on what app I wanted to use. I already knew I wanted to use a pdf file because I like the thought of “writing” on what seemed like paper. There are a couple of different apps that you can do that with.
The iPad has a system where you can annotate PDFs then there are apps and such that you can use as well. Apps like Goodnotes or Notability offer the same amenities as the annotation system on the iPad but can offer more! Goodnotes is the most popular and has many Goodnotes templates and digital stickers (more on that later) that you can buy. Etsy is also a good place to find digital planners and digital stickers. Although if you’re looking for something specific or unique good luck, based on my search it seems most planners look relatively the same and at least to my eye very minimalistic.
Organizing Your Tasks and To-Do Lists
For me when I think of To-Do Lists I think of the notepad that gets stuck to the fridge and contains “Honey Do Lists” from your wife or mom.
Task management is an extremely effective skill for someone to maintain. It can be the difference between an anxiety riddled day to a relaxing but busy day.
One of the things that can feel overwhelming is when you have a bunch of tasks and no way to organize them. Using digital to-lists you can do this.
Alphabetical order, priority order, order from least favorite to favorite. Order is important. It can be a little tedious to write and rewrite your to-do lists in order of importance. With digital planning you have the ability to rearrange and organize as many times as you want.
Another positive of digital to-do list is the ability to set different reminders and ease of crossposting to different apps like the calendar, Goodnotes, or reminders.

Goals remind me of New Year’s resolutions . It’s something that you say you’re gonna do and then don’t stick to it. So what if you had a goal planner? Managing Your Business with Digital Planner
Using a digital planner can work magic for your business! It’s the ultimate organization tool in my opinion and can be the difference between your business taking off and failing!
When I first started my CuteNomz shop I had no clue that organization was quite literally the key to failing or surviving. I had papers in this place and that place, files on this computer and that hard drive, I had product photos and screenshots well everywhere.
During the time of me changing my brand name I had made an executive to become more organized. So I created a Goodnotes journal and filled it with everything to do with CuteNomz. Brand identity, inventory, emails, pricing for platforms that I use, social media accounts, blog post titles and ideas, ideas for upcoming launches. Basically my CuteNomz Bible.
Now for me I don’t use specific templates (even though I could make one myself) purely because that is not my organization style. Yes, if you would look at my so-called CuteNomz Bible it would look like an absolute mess but for me I know exactly where everything is.
If there’s anything I want you to remember from this article is that not everything I say will work for you. If anything I want you to take bits and pieces from this and share it with a friend; she or he may take very different bits and pieces from this!
Make It Fun
The number one pro to digital planning is customization! It may also be the most daunting thing about digital planning. You literally have unlimited ways to customize a planner! Speaking of custom planners, if you would like your own custom planner I create custom planners. It was one of the things I struggled with when starting my business and I would love to help others struggle less.
Now on to digital stickers. Digital stickers are another form of customization. There are thousands and thousands of digital stickers that people have created. To make it simple digital stickers are stickers that are created just like planner stickers and bullet journal stickers; they’re just digital! No more loading up on sticker sheets, no more looking through sticker sheets trying to find that specific sticker that you know is there somewhere. Well you may end up still looking through trying to find that perfect sticker. But once you do you can easily organize it depending on the digital platform you end up using.
Conclusion
Digital planners are great! They offer a variety of organizations personal to what you need. Customization is easy and fun with tons and tons of options.
Digital planners are versatile tools that are adaptable to various lifestyles and needs. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different techniques, methods, and themes of planners.
